As a lifetime member of our clinic you will receive individual coaching from your health coach on a weekly basis, weekly weight and measurement appointments, tips and recipes, access to support/educational groups and ongoing coaching while in Phase 4 Maintenance. As an Ideal Balance client you will have personal access to a members’ only portal. Here you’ll find access to daily coaching videos, recipes, and body composition results. We feel it’s important for you to learn and understand the science behind the program to help you stay on track between visits and prepare you for the future.
I live with diabetes, is this program safe for me?
Absolutely! The Ideal Protein weight loss method has been proven to be safe and beneficial for those living with Type 1 and 2 Diabetes. In fact, people living with diabetes and pre-diabetes have a lot to gain from our protocol because the Ideal Protein program regulates glycaemia. Benefits include helping you to achieve better blood sugar control, and potential reduction or even discontinuation of your medications.
Is the program Vegetarian or Vegan Friendly?
If you are vegetarian, you can do very well on our program and will have plenty of delicious food to choose from. Unfortunately, if you are a vegan, you do not qualify as there are too many dietary restrictions for you to receive proper nutritional requirements.
Can I do the program if I'm gluten or lactose intolerant?
Absolutely! Ideal Protein offers many tasty gluten free items. Additionally, there are some products that are lactose free and others containing whey isolates which are comprised of approximately 0.05% lactose. These generally do not cause problems for those who are lactose intolerant.
Do I have to qualify to join the program?
Yes, you do. The Ideal Protein program is safe for most people and we welcome the opportunity to speak to you more about it. But it’s important to know that not everyone automatically qualifies for our program. For example, if you are pregnant or breast feeding we suggest you wait to join the program; however, you could use our protein as a supplement to a balanced diet. There are also some medical conditions that will require your doctor’s authorization before joining the program.
What about Exercise?
While in Phase 1: Fat Burning, it is strongly recommended that you keep to light exercise such as walking, swimming, biking and light weight lifting. It is important to keep our bodies moving but not to over exercise while in Phase 1. Once in Phases 2-4, it’s time to ramp up the exercise and get a bit sweaty. Most people report having so much energy that exercise comes naturally in their lives.
What are the health benefits to this weight loss method?
What’s so great about this program is that it’s a science-based method using a well-researched and tested protocol combined with individualized health coaching. It’s more than just a weight loss program, it’s a program that has been proven to help reverse metabolic syndrome —the cluster of conditions that are precursors to heart disease, stroke and diabetes! This program is about changing your health status.
Do I have to take vitamins/supplements?
Yes. As part of the Ideal Protein Method, you are required to take certain vitamins to maintain optimal health. The vitamins have been specifically formulated to ensure that you receive the correct daily amount of essential nutrients while on the program. These supplements are necessary and part of the protocol to achieve the best results.
Who sets my weight loss goal?
The simple answer, you. There is no set restriction on your weight loss. This is your life and you set the goal. We are here to support you along the way. Remember, that skinny isn’t the goal. Strong, confident and healthy is the goal. At your first appointment, your coach will ask you about your goal and work with that. We strive to be collaborative and make you the focus of all that we do. Sometimes people come in with a goal in mind ,or want to reduce medication and reclaim their health, or a pair of jeans they want to fit into – the goal is up to you!
Each week, at your coaching appointment, you will do a body composition analysis that helps you understand the physiology of your body – from fat loss percentage, weight loss, muscle mass and hydration. We will also take measurements as fat loss isn’t always noticeable on the scale but the measuring tape doesn’t lie.
